Sep 24 all-day

The 2015 Celebrating First Ladies Summits and Dinner came as a platform to bring women and others in governance, leadership position, peace initiatives and religion to discussion on sustainable roles of women in governance and leadership to global peace. SOUL ACTIVATION Workshop: Sound Healing & Journeying With David Young @ Jivamukti Yoga NYC
Sep 30 @ 5:00 pm – 7:30 pm

EVERYONE WILL HAVE AN EXPERIENCE- either with an Ascended Master, an Arch Angel, a past life experience, an out of body experience in the inner light, or you will have some other experience special for you…

David Young is a twice Grammy Nominated musician who plays two renaissance flutes at one time in harmony. He has recorded 57 albums and sold over 1,000,000 copies. He is a healer, channel, writer of three books, artist and it is said that more people have had out of body experiences while listening to his music than other musician alive today.

Link to 1:00 event video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdL6Zk5FgUY

Whether people have been meditating a short time or for thirty years, attendees consistantly say they’ve had the most profound, spiritual experience of their entire life.

Marie Diamond, Fung Shui Master and speaker in the movie, “The Secret” came on stage after one of David’s performances and told the audience she just had “the most profound spiritual experience of her life.”

Barbara Hardie, writer of the book, “Creating Heaven on Earth”, well respected medium and angel channel from MA. who has been meditating for 25 years had a healing at her first event and shared that she had “the most high vibrational, spiritual experience of her life” at her second event. She has been to four events now and each one brought her to a higher level than she ever thought possible.

David has done over 100 Soul Activation workshops this year, traveling to three or four cities each week.

For the past two months, AT EVERY EVENT, people have consistently shared their experiences with either Buddha, Jesus, Lao Tzu, Quan Yin, or Mother Mary.

David’s wife Dawn has had nine experiences with Kali, the Goddess seen with six arms. Others have had experiences with Edgar Cayce, Gandhi, George Harrison, John Lennon, Ravi Shankar, and the Egyptian Goddess Isis. Although each experience is unique, many share that these great teachers have told them we are all One and we are equal and there is no need for the pedestals that mankind has put them on.

Three people at one event saw Jesus standing in the exact same place in the room and he gave each of them the same inner symbols.

Two women sitting next to each other at one event both described experiencing Quan Yin standing between them.

On separate evenings two people had the exact same experience with Buddha who brought them to this gigantic tree (The Tree of Life) that was so tremendous it was beyond their description of words.

At every one of these events at least ten people have shared reconnecting with their loved ones in Spirit.

A shy, introverted woman came to an event and shared that her entire family in Heaven lined up to greet her, over 20 souls.

Violetta, who has cancer has been visited six times by Jesus, George Harrison and John Lennon at events as they are helping her to heal. After living with 10 out of 10 horrible pain from her treatments the week before the last event she was pain free for 48 hours afterwards.

A woman with a son with Down Syndrome had a Soul to Soul experience where he was syndrome free on the inner and he explained why he had that disease in his current life.

David was given nine words to give to a woman, “I am Strong, I am Protected, I am Confident.” Afterwards she shared that Arch Angel Michael had come to her the previous week and gave her the same nine words and told her to write them down.

It is a privilege and sheer pleasure for David to share his music and this energy with the New York City and Jivamukti Yoga community.

In the wake of the controversy over the immigration ban, the story of World Citizen #1 Garry Davis is the perfect antidote. It goes to the heart of healing to the sense of fear and powerlessness that leads to trying to close in, restrict freedoms and build walls.

Now is the perfect time for “The World is My Country” to inspire us all to realize that greatness comes not by separation and fear of those who are different, but by we, the people, celebrating our diversity and forming a more perfect union – at the global level.

Sep 20 @ 4:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Connect for Peace 2018 @ Foley Square

Connect for Peace is a public street happening for peace in honor of the International Day of Peace. We invite participants and passersby to connect with one another in a spirit of openness, spontaneity, and childlike innocence. A cross between performance art and a peace rally, these powerful events have touched the lives of people from around the globe.

We take a moment to connect for peace. We take a moment to really see the person in front of us. We say, “I see you” and are genuinely seen in return. The bungee cords physicalize the invisible connections between all people. As we realize how interconnected we are, peace is a natural outcome.

Amazing things happen at every Connect for Peace event. It touches something deep. Passersby stop to share intimate details of their lives. Strangers are moved to extraordinary acts of kindness. The premise is simple but the results are incredibly powerful.

Join others for 15 glorious minutes of Laughter Yoga on the phone as we celebrate 11 Days of Global Unity! Today, we culminate these 11 days as we mark the UN International Day of Peace. When Dr. Kataria, founder of Laughter Yoga, began spreading his vision of sharing intentional laughter, he recognized that Laughter is a universal language and since its founding in 1995, he has hoped others will share his vision of using shared intentional laughter to help the world find peace. I’m SURE I’ve enjoyed laughing with each and every person who has called in during the 11 Days of Global Unity. On this, our last call of this series, we will focus on Laughter Exercises that envision a more peaceful world. As always: no previous experience, no special clothes or equipment required. Drawdown EcoChallenge @ In your community
Apr 3 – Apr 24 all-day
Our Story

For over 25 years, we’ve inspired, educated and activated thousands of communities and organizations through our solutions-focused programs and ready-to-use social and digital tools. Together, they provide the launchpad for emerging generations and sustainability leaders to experience “ah-ha” moments that lead to extraordinary environmental and social change.

Drawdown EcoChallenge is:

  • a 21-day engagement program focused on carbon reduction;
  • a challenge taking place April 3-24 and;
  • following actions highlighted in Drawdown, a book based on meticulous research that maps, measures, models, and describes solutions to global warming that already exists and;
  • where participants track and share their progress online in a robust platform and earn points for taking action and;
  • the combination of collective action, camaraderie, and friendly competition makes change a little easier — and a lot more fun and;
  • providing tools and inspiration to turn intention into action, and
  • giving participants a fun and social way to think about and act on proven solutions to reverse global warming!

Over eighty actions within seven challenge categories

provide participants with diverse options to reduce carbon usage.

The EcoChallenge Platform is a signature offering of EcoChallenge.org (formerly Northwest Earth Institute), a sustainability organization that provides innovative social and digital tools designed to be a launchpad for emerging generations and sustainability leaders to experience “ah-ha” moments that lead to extraordinary environmental and social change. EcoChallenge.org also hosts a global October EcoChallenge which is free and open to everyone, everywhere. Over 73,500 people from 101 countries have used the EcoChallenge Platform and the organization has engaged over 250,000 people throughout its 25-year history. The EcoChallenge Platform can also be used to create custom Challenges that meet the engagement and action goals of your workplace, college, or community.

CAMP KINDNESS DAY – JULY 23, 2019 @ Your neghborhood
Jul 23 all-day

Camp Kindness Day logo

Camp Kindness Day — July 23, 2019

On July 23, the camp community will participate in Camp Kindness Day – an event highlighting the practice of intentional kindness that happens every day at American camps. This is an opportunity to raise awareness of the the great work that camps are doing to teach kindness in engaging, simple, repeatable, and high impact ways that live on in the daily lives of campers and staff members when they return home.

Focusing on our youth and young adults, Camp Kindness Day will help showcase the commitment of the camp community to fostering the core values of kindness, compassion, generosity and care, and integrating those values more fully into every aspect of our society. These values are already part of the fabric of the camp experience. We share the mission for our youth to be nurtured, taught, supported, and inspired to grow into our new generation of kind, compassionate, socially-minded, community-oriented citizens.

Camp Kindness Day will allow camps to incorporate into their July 23 programming fun theme-based activities and cooperative games, cool projects, and memorable moments which will celebrate the value and impact of kindness.

How your camp can participate:

  1. Schedule Camp Kindness Day into your programming on July 23.
  2. Help spread the word in a unified social media campaign by tagging #CampKindnessDay into your social media and other communications.
  3. Share your plans so that ACA can support you through localized public relations efforts.

To support your camp’s involvement in Camp Kindness Day, ACA has produced an electronic #CampKindnessDay Backpack, complete with programming ideas and activities, FAQs, social media tips, and other information on how your camp can celebrate Camp Kindness Day.

Open the Backpack

Be part of the nation-wide evolution! Plan now to add #CampKindnessDay to your camp’s programming on July 23.

August Shark and Mermaid Parties by BEVERLY’S BIRTHDAYS
Aug 1 @ 8:00 am – Aug 31 @ 5:00 pm

One simple goal – to make a child feel special.

Beverly’s Birthdays provides birthday cheer for children experiencing homelessness and families in need. We spread birthday cheer 365 days a year. Today, nearly one in four children in the U.S. live at or below the poverty line. In Southwestern PA alone, there are nearly 3,000 school-aged children identified as homeless. Children living in poverty often go without the everyday items that we take for granted. Special milestones, like birthdays, are often overlooked because of their families’ personal/financial circumstances. Beverly’s Birthdays enriches the lives of the children we serve by making sure they are remembered on their special day.

It Started with Beverly… and Megs.

In March of 2011, Beverly’s Birthdays founder, Megs Yunn, met a young girl, Beverly, who shared with Ms. Megs that she had never had her own birthday party or even her own slice of birthday cake.

Inspired by Beverly’s story, Megs decided to start an organization that provides birthday celebrations for homeless children in the Pittsburgh Region.

In June of 2011, Megs submitted her idea to the “BE BIG in Your Community Contest,” a signature component of the ongoing Clifford The Big Red Dog® BE BIG!™ campaign sponsored by American Family Insurance and was selected as a first place winner out of over 1,000 entries in the nation. Beverly’s Birthdays received a starter grant to help make Megs dream a reality. Beverly’s Birthdays became an official nonprofit in February 2012 and received our 501c3 status in August 2012.

Beverly’s Birthdays currently partners with agencies across the Pittsburgh region to ensure that no child is forgotten on his/her special day. Since our inception we have created over 30,000 birthday experiences….this is A TON OF BIRTHDAY CHEER!

Partnerships to support families.

Beverly’s Birthdays has established partnerships with more than 68 social service agencies and 73 schools throughout the greater Pittsburgh region. Our agency partners include homeless shelters, transitional housing programs, domestic violence shelters, group homes, and residential treatment facilities. We are proud to be program provider for all 27 Family Support Centers in Allegheny County. Additionally, we are able to provide our programs to all five regional Allegheny County Children, Youth, and Families offices.

9799 Laurel Avenue
North Huntingdon, PA 15642

“I’m just so excited to be happy!”

The children and families we serve are all dealing with difficult life situations — but one thing is common: their need for happiness, cheer, and hope. Beverly’s Birthdays programming allows these families a “cognitive gift”, a chance to take a break from their stress and to have a moment of normalcy.

“It’s been a really tough time for me and my children. I am going to get it right for them. Being a part of Beverly’s Birthdays programming is so nice. It gives me HOPE.” -Single mom residing in a shelter

When a young boy shares with us that he doesn’t know the words to the “Happy Birthday” song because no one has ever sang it to him before, we are encouraged to do more.

When an eight-year-old boy spends time with his family baking a cake from his Birthday in a Bag and says, “Now we’re like real people,” we are inspired.

When a former birthday recipient, who is now a young adult, tells you, “There needs to be more people like you in the world,” we are humbled.

“Now the whole world knows that I matter.”

When a mom at a shelter works to turn her life around, graduates from college, and invites Beverly’s Birthdays staff to her graduation, we are honored.

When a six-year-old little boy – who has been living at a transitional housing program with his mom- exclaims in the middle of his birthday party, “Best birthday ever!” we are moved.

When a ten-year-old little girl blows out her candle and shares with our staff that her wish was, “I wish this moment would last longer,” we are grateful.

Love Glasses symbolize your ability to filter out hate and negativity.

Our fun and stylish Love Glasses help you share a vital message to the world

It is because of you we are changing the world and

it is because of you we are the Love Glasses Revolution.

Who Wears Love Glasses?

If you are a Love Rebel, a person who choose to see the good
in the world in spite of all the negativity and hate,
then our heart-shaped sunglasses (Love Glasses)
are just right for YOU!.
LOVE GLASSES are amazing, stylish and FUN to wear
but they are more than that.
They are a symbol and statement that you are choosing to see the good
and BE the good in the world.
It’s a message to the world that you live on your own terms
and you write your own narrative!

It’s easy to join the Love Glasses Revolution!

Joining the Love Glasses Revolution is as simple as taking the Pledge!
Say out loud or to yourself
“I choose to view the world with Love”.
You can hold the pledge card and send us a selfie,
you can send us a video or
can do nothing at all and it’s all ok
because you made the choice.

When we wear our LOVE GLASSES: “We choose to SEE the world with our Love Glasses to symbolize our ability to filter out hate and negativity. Our fun and stylish Love Glasses help you share a vital message to the world. It is because of you we are changing the world and it is because of you we are the Love Glasses Revolution –  GLASSES for viewing the world on our terms, repelling the negativity around us and increasing random acts of kindness and understanding that those small acts make a large impact.

We view life as a gift and we live each day with gratitude.”

SHARE THE LOVE! Literally share all the GOOD and random acts of kindness on Facebook and Instagram using #LoveGlassesRevolution. They can be selfies, stories, good deeds. Share the good, share wide and share far. We need LOVE more now than ever!
Rainbow Love Glasses

Why LOVE GLASSES REVOLUTION?

In 2015, I became depressed over the state of affairs. Political rhetoric was out of control, hate crimes were up 67% and things seemed dismal at best. One day after reaching my breaking point I called my little brother Brad and I cried on the phone for almost 2 hours about all of the negativity. My brother didn’t know what to do or say but he sent me a meme. It was a picture of a little guinea pig wearing heart shaped glasses and it read “I can’t see the haters with my love glasses on”.

It was at that moment that I decided to go out and buy a pair of heart shaped glasses. I felt like it was a shield to go out in the world and that if anyone said or did anything negative to me, I would be ready. However, that is not what happened…not even close.

I would wear my love glasses to the grocery store and it never failed that someone would say, “Oh I love your heart shaped sunglasses!” and I would respond “they are my love glasses!” and then they would ask “Where can I get some?” Each and every time I went out I would have an interaction and it was often times around my glasses. Things started to change and I looked forward to going out and find new people to meet and share a kind word or a smile.

It was after a short time that I decided that I wanted to not only go out and socialize more but I carried myself differently and more confidently and understood the power of choosing to see the world with love and that these love glasses were reminders that I could do just that. I came home and told my husband that I wanted to start a Love Glasses Revolution to help others find their voice and be confident in who they are.

Shortly Love Glasses Revolution was born and it wasn’t long that we were manufacturing our own quality yet affordable love glasses inscribed with the words “Love Glasses Revolution” and offering them to others to remind them that they too can choose love. It became a movement, people all over the world are now wearing love glasses. We call our followers love rebels, they are people who are actively rebelling against the negativity and hate. They do all sorts of things in the world, they are professionals, artists, writers, students, activists, teachers but they are all tied together with a common thread that they want to make the world a better place. They care and they show up and use their voices, their way, their style.

We hope that you will join the thousands of people who take the pledge to choose to see the world with love. It is because of you we are changing the world and it is because of you we are the Love Glasses Revolution.

************************************************************************************************

There are only 2 “asks” to join the LOVE GLASSES REVOLUTION

1. We ask you to take the Love Glasses Revolution Pledge and say “I choose to view the world with Love”.When we wear our LOVE GLASSES:”We choose to SEE the world with our LOVE GLASSES, viewing the world on our terms, repelling the negativity around us and increasing random acts of kindness and understanding that those small acts make a large impact. We view life as a gift and we live each day with gratitude.”

2. WE ASK YOU TO SHARE THE LOVE! Literally share all the GOOD and random acts of kindness on facebook and Instagram using #LoveGlassesRevolution. They can be selfies, stories, good deeds. Share the good, share wide and share far. We need it more now than ever!

GRANDMOTHERS WISDOM: Reverence for All Creation – Book Launch

September 18, 2019

4:00 – 7:30  pm

Tibet House

22 West 15th Street

New York, NY  10011

Join the International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers, Dr. Henrietta Mann, Nena Thurman and other special guests for the book launch of“Grandmothers Wisdom: Reverence for All Creation”.

The Earth is our loving grandmother. For all time, Cheyenne storytellers, generation after generation, have repeated this belief with both their minds and their hearts. As they say, The Great One, Everywhere Spirit, created the universe and all life with power so vast it defies human imagination. Entirely with the force of thought, the four powerful spirit beings came into existence to witness creation and to eventually safeguard and shelter all life, especially human beings. Next came the water of life, the fire and light of the sun, the infinite sky air, and compassionate Earth. The Great One, Everywhere Spirit, contemplated creation and thought the Earth to be the most beautiful of all, then declared that the Earth be known as our grandmother.

Grandmother Earth is also, more commonly, referred to as Mother Earth. Indeed, she is first woman, first mother, first teacher, oldest mother, and oldest grandmother. The Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers whose magnificent lives are encapsulated in the work of this book represent Earth’s titanic spirit, power, beauty, and love. Individually and collectively, they are rooted in the Earth and carry her wisdom as a perpetual trust. They are committed to sustaining their Earth home and to educating and defending the hearts of all the world’s children.

Please join us in celebrating the manifestation of “Grandmothers Wisdom: Reverence for All Creation”, life and the continuation of this movement of peace, spiritual activism, honoring Mother Earth and future generations.

Seating is first-come, first-served.

Reception and book signing to follow. To join the signing line, we ask that you please purchase a copy of the book available at the event.

mount shasta.jpg

You’re invited to enjoy a very special weekend of renewal and transformation on powerful Mount Shasta in Northern California. Long considered one of the seven sacred mountains of the world, Mount Shasta holds a vibrant transformative energy that seekers the world over travel to experience. Graceful and deeply profound, Mount Shasta is an immense energy center filled with opportunities to connect deeply with the Heart of the Living Earth. How long has it been since you listened?

Your guided journey begins at 4pm on Thursday October 3rd with a welcoming circle and delicious dinner, and ends on Sunday October 6th at 12pm with our closing circle. Throughout your experience you will enjoy opportunities to connect and communicate with Pachamama and the more than human beings that she nourishes. You will:

shasta group.jpg
  • ·Travel to the Mountain for exploration and prayers

  • Learn simple yet profound techniques to help you more easily hear the language of non verbal beings, including Heart Coherence, extra sensory perception, Grazing, and Earthing

  • Experience communication with the Water People, Rock People, Animal People, Plant People, Tree People and the Mountain Herself

  • Be transformed through earth based ceremony

  • Feast in joyful communion in our Sacred Kitchen

  • Make an alchemical sacred anointing oil that you’ll take home

  • Enjoy lively discussions, laughter and heart-centered community connection

This will be a time of deeply connecting to oneself, the mountain, nature and the cosmic forces supporting our spiritual evolution. We live in a sacred world that is not just more complex than we think – it’s more complex than we can think. We’ll move out of the “thinking ball” on top of our bodies and settle deep into our hearts to learn a new language. We go to the mountain to listen. We go for new direction. We go to play. You’ll return home with a renewed sense of connection, gratitude, and deep appreciation for the unique and interconnected place you hold in life’s tapestry.

Lodging

Lodging opportunities at our retreat center include shared bedrooms in the main house, shared space in the smaller yurt (yurt spaces include a bed and curtains to separate your space from the rest of the yurt if desired), and “glamping” tent sites with two beds per tent. You might initially feel awkward about sharing sleeping rooms, but part of the weekend’s experience is to remember the gifts of community that come with sharing space in a world that supports increasing isolation. If you have a preference for a particular space, please indicate your preference when you register and we’ll do our very best to accommodate you. See slide show below for photos.

Things to Bring

  • An item from your kitchen that has personal significance to you. These will be placed on our Sacred Kitchen alter, and you’ll take them home again at the end of the journey.

  • A homemade gift for our giveaway. This could be a piece of art, a jar of jam, a poem – anything you’ve personally made with your hands and your heart.

  • Folding camp chair and blanket for your outdoor comfort. The evenings can be chilly on the mountain in early October.

  • Sunscreen

  • Water Bottles. I recommend bringing extras to fill with fresh living spring water from the Sacramento River Headwaters so you can take some of this amazing water home with you.

  • Paper or journal, with an extra pen.

  • Drums, rattles, guitars, and other musical instruments – if you wish

  • A walking stick (optional)

  • A day pack

  • Snacks or special foods you might need.

Meet Your Facilitators

Julie Caldwell, MA

julie+in+shop1.jpg

Over two decades ago Julie opened the doors of Humboldt Herbals ~ a full service herbal apothecary located in the heart of the Redwoods on the pristine northern California coast. She and her staff of experienced herbalists now serve hundreds of community members each month who rely on Humboldt Herbals as a primary source of health care.

Originally from Alabama, Julie grew up with a plant talking granny, a pharmacist father, an artist mother, and loads of fiddle-playing, guitar picking relatives. Her first serious relationship with a plant began over 45 years ago at age 5, when she became great friends with a wild black cherry tree her granny called Crazy Doug. Julie’s “formal” education includes a BS in research psychology and biology, a MA in contemporary American poetry, and many, many herb classes including extensive studies with Pam Montgomery. The works of Pam, Stephen Harrod Buhner and Rosemary Gladstar have greatly influenced her herbal approach. She serves on the Visioning Council for the Organization of Nature Evolutionaries, and continues to enjoy a long history of spiritual exploration with wise ones from various traditions around the world.

Julie offers personal sessions, classes and herb walks in the Humboldt County area, and facilitates ongoing retreats in sacred Mount Shasta. To learn more about Julie’s classes, services, and herb shop, you can sign up for the Humboldt Herbals monthly newsletter at www.humboldtherbals.com.

Elyshia Holliday

elyshia+flowers+2a.jpg

In the spring of 2000 Elyshia left her thriving naturopathic practice in the Central Valley of California and moved to the mountains of New Mexico, where she co-founded a non-profit organization dedicated to healing the relationship between human beings and Mother Earth. She studied with many teachers and elders in the course of supporting this mission, who were called upon to guide and share their innate perspective of living as part of a whole earth system. Their wisdom and knowledge has had a profound influence on the way Elyshia views life, healing, and our basic guardianship of earth.

Growing up in the Cascade Mountains of Oregon created a unique opportunity to be close to the mountains, waters, trees and the wild in her everyday life. The quietness of the land allowed Elyshia to learn to listen to nature, to the wind blowing through the tall pines and currents of the river flowing across skin. It was good preparation!

Although it seems the most important things she learned came from elders, the cosmos and the Earth herself, Elyshia’s formal education includes a BS in Biology with concentrations in molecular biology and biochemistry as well as Master Herbalist, Master Iridologist and Naturopathy certificates from the School of Natural Medicine in Boulder, Colorado where she studied with Farida Sharan.

Julie and Elyshia at the Global Earth Repair Conference

Much of the work Elyshia has done and continues to do is centered around community group facilitation, sacred nourishment, and helping people expand their relationship with Mother Earth. Since 2016 she has initiated and been engaged with a multi year regeneration project focused on healing the human-land-water relationship, especially in relation to erosion, desertification and the balance of the masculine and feminine. Elyshia continues to contribute in New Mexico and is the Executive Director of O.N.E..

History

The Elysabeth Kleinhans Theatrical Foundation was established by Founding Artistic Director, Elysabeth Kleinhans, to create a new, state-of-the-art theater complex to host original and innovative theatrical productions in East Midtown Manhattan.

In 2002, the building at 59 East 59th Street was donated to the Foundation. The building was then gut renovated, creating three brand new theaters, Theater A, Theater B, and Theater C, designed by architect, Leo Modrcin, who collaborated with the Foundation to create an inviting ambiance.

Under the leadership of Founding Artistic Director Elysabeth Kleinhans and Executive Producer Peter Tear, 59E59 Theaters opened its inaugural season in February 2004 with a production of The Stendhal Syndrome produced by then resident company, Primary Stages, in the largest of its three spaces, Theater A. Shortly following, in April 2004, the other two spaces – Theater B and Theater C, opened their doors with productions of Sun Is Shining, by the ground breaking British-Chinese Mu Lan Theatre Company, and My Arm, Tim Crouch’s critically-acclaimed hour-long solo show from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, during the Theaters’ first annual Brits Off Broadway—a season dedicated to premiering new work by Off Broadway-style UK companies.

Since 2004, the theaters have been continuously occupied with shows running from three to seven weeks. For detailed information about past productions, please see our Archives.

In 2017, Elysabeth Kleinhans and Peter Tear stepped down from their roles, and Val Day, a longtime agent with William Morris and ICM, was appointed as Artistic Director. With the addition of a new Artistic Director, 59E59 Theaters moved to the final phase of transitioning from the founding team to a traditional theater management structure, begun in 2012 with the appointment of Brian Beirne as Managing Director

The Cause

Climate Ride creates opportunities for you to engage in a way that is uniquely positive, life-affirming, and transformational. Climate Ride participants take on a challenge much bigger than themselves and share their journey with their personal networks helping to amplify support for the cause. Climate Ride is the only organization taking this approach in the environmental sector.

Our Mission

“To inspire and empower citizens to work toward a sustainable future. By using personal challenge as a means to change lives, Climate Ride is building an effective, citizen-based sustainability movement.”

Climate Ride empowers participants to actively engage in the fight against climate change by completing multi-day bicycling and hiking events to fundraise for the organizations they value most and take action together for the planet.

Immersive outdoor experiences and personal challenges are powerful tools for generating behavioral change to help ignite activism on climate policy, raise critical funds, and influence public opinion.

“We hear Mother Earth’s call to simultaneously become more heart centered and action oriented.  Feeling Mother Earth’s sacredness in our hearts can be profound motivation to act on Her behalf.  Many actions are needed now, from calling legislators to attending rallies … art making, creative planning, spreading the word, writing letters to the editor … advocating for clean water, renewable energy … as well as social, racial, and economic justice issues that are inseparable from co-creating a sustainable, thriving world that works for all.  We believe these actions are most effective, and most beautiful, when they are inspired by and carried out with love and respect for this beautiful planet, all who reside here, and whatever divine energies are loving us and encouraging us through this Great Turning.  This feeling of connection, love, and inspiration is what we seek to create through Planet Heart’s Annual World Peace Earth Day.  Please join us, be inspired, keep your heart open, and channel that love into action. ”

DIVEST – Divestment and Climate Financing – April 23

Led by Stop the Money Pipeline Coalition, during this day of action we are calling for a global reset. We want to reprogram the economy so that it works for people and the planet, not polluters and politicians.

VOTE – Voter Registration and Political Engagement – April 24

We need leaders who will address this existential threat. It’s critical for all of us to show up at the polls this year and vote for our future. So the final day will focus on the importance of voting through a nationwide youth voter registration day.

The US Climate Strike Coalition and Stop The Money Pipeline Coalition, who together are made up of over 500 organizations, have come together to organize Earth Day Live.

The US Climate Strike Coalition is a coalition of over 400 organizations that formed ahead of the September 20, 2019 climate strikes. Led by the leading youth-led climate organizations in the US, the coalition works intergenerationally and collaboratively to coordinate the Climate Strikes in the US.

Stop the Money Pipeline is a coalition of over 100 climate, environmental and Indigneous rights groups that is demanding that the financial sector stops funding the fossil fuel industry and deforestation, and starts respecting Indigenous sovereignty and human rights.

The Ribbon 2020 – Tangible Hope for No Nuclear War – 75th Anniversary of the Nuclear Bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki @ Global
Aug 1 all-day

The Ribbon 2020 – Tangible Hope for No Nuclear War

The Ribbon was founded by Justine Merritt who had visited Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum in 1982. She was greatly affected by the tragedy caused by the Atomic Bomb. After arriving home, it came to her to create a Ribbon, and decided to have a Ribbon event on the 40th memorial anniversary of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

It was in the middle of the Cold War between The United States and The Soviet Union, and using nuclear weapons could happen again at a moments notice.

On August 4, 1985, in Washington, D.C., fifteen miles of Ribbons encircled the Pentagon and other important monuments: With the message of “What I cannot bear to think of as lost forever in a nuclear war”. The Atomic Bomb Dome in Hiroshima was also encircled.

The Ribbon International is now a Non Governmental Organization in Association with the United Nations. Since 1985, many Ribbons have been created around the world. People carry Ribbons and pray for Peace at many occasions such as; community memorial gatherings and marches related to nuclear, peace and environmental issues. Ribbons have been exhibited in various places as well.

Nowadays the world is closer to the tragedy of nuclear war or a nuclear accident more than ever before.

On August 1st 2020, the 75th Anniversary of the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, The Ribbon International is planning to have a Ribbon event in New York City and in other cities around the world. Please join us, and pray for a world without nuclear weapons and never another nuclear tragedy. (If you cannot join, please pray with us wherever you are.)

How to make Ribbon
(Please also see our website: www.theribboninternational.org)

  • Cut a panel of sturdy cloth, double thickness, of any color.
  • Finished size: one meter by a half meter (or one yard by a half yard)
  • Sew 20cm (9 inch) pieces of ribbon to each corner so the panels may be easily tied together.
  • On this panel, sew, paint, write, embroider, weave, knit, tie-dye or use any other kind of ornaments to express what you most love about the world and want to protect from what is endangered on this earth.
  • If you wish, write your name and/or any message on the back of the panel.

Pieces to Peace,

There will be no check-in table in Arlington in August
with an aging, greying teacher with a red Bic pen
waiting to grade assignments for more than ten miles of Ribbon.
All the pieces belong there:
all the symbols of a nation’s yearning for peace.

Who would want to judge the pieces?
Choose one as better than another?
Work of Art?
Work of heart?

Who would want to judge the pieces?
Lay aside a child’s rain-touched, felt tipped rainbow
for an artist’s gessoed work?

Who would want to say the eighth-grader’s acrylic basketball court
held more promise that the quilter’s careful stitches
holding her aching heart together after the evening’s late news?

Each one makes The Ribbon:
the pizza, poison ivy, pomegranate seeds
the ladybugs, mid-Hudson bridge,
poetry,
and creed;
each segment makes The Ribbon.

It is in the addition we find the sum:
for it is one yard
plus one yard
plus each yard of cloth
that we honor the diversity,
that we celebrate the unity.

Each piece makes The Ribbon;
each piece brings the piece.

Amen
